Storage Location
1. Business Use Case Examples
For enterprises, the warehouse is a critical logistics node, and bin location planning is key to optimizing storage efficiency. Effective bin planning requires consideration of multiple factors, including warehouse layout, product categories, storage requirements, and inbound/outbound workflows. Proper planning maximizes space utilization, reduces storage costs, and enhances logistics efficiency.
In practice, bin management involves operations such as material storage, outbound transfers, and relocations. ShareCRM’s Bin Management enables real-time warehouse and bin tracking, including inventory checks, bin adjustments, and product relocations. This granular management improves inventory accuracy and reduces operational errors.

- A bin is a Sub-object of a Warehouse.
- When creating a warehouse:
- If the Enable Bin Management field is set to No, the bin Sub-object will not appear. The warehouse creation logic remains unchanged.
- If set to Yes, the bin Sub-object will appear. Multiple bins can be added per warehouse by inserting rows. Each bin requires a manually entered unique Bin Code.
- Within the same warehouse:
- Bin Codes must be unique.
- Bin names must also be unique.
- For warehouses with Bin Management enabled, bins can be left blank during warehouse creation but must be specified during inbound operations.
4. Specifying Bins During Inbound

- When creating an Inbound Order:
- If the selected warehouse has Bin Management enabled, the Bin field becomes mandatory for each line item.
- Different bins can be selected for different line items.
- No inventory validation is required during inbound.
- Upon completion, the system increases both the Products’ total inventory and bin-specific inventory quantities.

- Outbound operations require inventory validation:

- Upon completion, the system decreases both the Products’ total inventory and bin-specific inventory quantities.
