Shipping Notice

I. Business Use Case Examples

In certain real-world business scenarios, a Shipping Order often serves as a shipping notice/request/instruction rather than the final shipping outcome. The typical workflow for such scenarios is as follows:

An Order Management specialist creates a Shipping Notice based on the Sales Order. The Shipping Notice is then synchronized to the ERP system for fulfillment, and the final fulfillment result is synced back to the CRM as an Outbound Order.

Below is the common business process for Shipping Notices:

II. Enabling Shipping Notice

2.1 Prerequisites

  • Type B Inventory Management integration must be enabled. If Inventory Management is disabled or Type A (full version) is enabled, the Shipping Notice mode cannot be activated.
  • For new tenants, the Shipping Notice mode is enabled by default.
  • Existing tenants can manually switch their Shipping Orders to Shipping Notice mode.

  • When creating a Shipping Notice, the Warehouse field is optional.
  • For Products with batch or serial number tracking enabled, the Batch and Serial Number fields in the Shipping Notice line items are also optional.
  • No inventory-related validations are performed when saving a Shipping Notice.

IV. Syncing Final Results from ERP to CRM Outbound Order

  • Outbound Orders cannot be created directly in the CRM. As the final fulfillment record, they are only created when synced from the ERP system.
  • Once an Outbound Order is created, the system automatically updates the “Fulfillment Successful” field on the associated Shipping Notice to “Yes.”
  • Only when “Fulfillment Successful” is marked “Yes” can the Shipping Notice be confirmed for delivery.
