Sales Record FAQs
1. Difference Between Sales Records and Follow-Up Activities
- Follow-Up Activity refers to interactions and follow-up information recorded during the sales process with customers or other business objects. It includes sales records, reports, approvals, tasks, etc., and is a functional module on the object details page.
- Sales Record is a form of documentation created during customer service and follow-up processes.
- On the object details page under Follow-Up Activity, currently, only sales records can be published. Other content types (reports, approvals, etc.) are not supported for publishing but can be viewed. Filtering and categorization are also supported.
2. Having Data Permissions for an Account (Opportunity, Lead, etc.) but Unable to See Sales Records Posted by Others in Follow-Up Activities
The permissions for sales records in customer follow-up activities are governed by Feed permissions and Account data permissions (for details, refer to How to Use Sales Records).
If you can see the Follow-Up Activity but not the sales records posted by other Related Teams members, follow these steps:
First, use the data permission query tool to check the current user’s data permission source for the Account. Then, investigate the following scenarios:
Note: Do not query the permissions of the sales record itself.
Scenario 1: The current user is part of the Related Teams for the Account. Check the Related Teams Data Permissions under Preset Objects > Account. Verify if the Follow-Up Activity permission for the corresponding Role is set to “Disabled.” If disabled, the user cannot see sales records posted by others in Follow-Up Activities. Change it to “Read-only.”
Scenario 2: The current user gains access to the Account data through a subordinate who is a Related Team member. Check if the subordinate’s Related Teams data permissions are disabled. If disabled, the user cannot see sales records posted by others.
Scenario 3: The current user obtains Account data permissions via data sharing. Check if the enterprise is part of a beta feature (prohibiting shared permissions from viewing Follow-Up Activities on details pages). If enabled, the user cannot see sales records posted by others through data sharing.

3. Field Display Issues in Follow-Up Activity/Feeds for Sales Records
- Before clicking [Show More], the layout follows the Mobile Summary Layout (Preset Objects > Sales Record > Layout > Mobile Summary Layout).
- After clicking [Show More], the layout switches to the Details Page Layout (Preset Objects > Sales Record > Layout > Details Page Layout).
- Since the layouts differ before and after clicking [Show More], field displays may vary. Configure field displays for different layouts in the backend.
4. After Clearing the Account from a Follow-Up Record (Sales Record), the Account Still Appears on the Sales Record Details Page
- Reason: The [Account] field on the Follow-Up Record (Sales Record) list page is a Lookup Relationship field, while the [Account] field on the details page is a Related To field. These are separate fields, so clearing the Account from the list does not remove it from the details page.

5. Lookup Relationship Fields in Sales Records Automatically Populate Related To Fields
Example:
- The Related To field is of type “Dynamic Relationship” (Figure 1).
- The Account field is of type “Lookup Relationship” (Figure 2).
- When creating a Follow-Up Record (Sales Record), data from the Account Lookup Relationship field (Figure 3) automatically populates the Related To field (Figure 4).

6. How to Troubleshoot Permission Issues When Unable to View Sales Records or Reports Posted by Other Team Members in Follow-Up Activities
Check the Related Teams Data Permissions under the Account object. Verify whether the Follow-Up Activity (View All Sales Records for the Account) permission is set to “Read-only” for the following Roles: Owner, Regular Member, Joint Follower, and After-Sales Personnel.
7. Can a Reviewer Be Assigned to a Sales Record?
No. Only Reports support assigning a reviewer; Sales Records do not.
8. How to Add Pre-Validation Functions to Sales Record Buttons
Currently, the backend management system does not support adding pre-validation functions to buttons for the Sales Record object.
9. As the Owner of an Account, Can I Create Sales Records If I Lack “Create” Permissions for Sales Records?
No. The ability to create sales records depends on whether you have the Create business function permission for Sales Records.
10. Does Sales Record Support Update Imports?
No. Sales Record imports only support adding new data, not updating existing records.
