Channel Warehouse
1. Business Use Case Example
Warehouse is an essential link in channel transactions. For channel management scenarios, brand owners typically assign corresponding channel Warehouses to channel partners; a single channel partner may have multiple Warehouses across different regions.
After a channel partner purchases Products from the brand owner, they store the Products in the partner’s Warehouse. Managing channel Warehouses helps partner managers track Goods receipt, shipping, returns, and Inventory, enabling more efficient oversight of channel operations and improving operational efficiency.
2. Create a Channel Warehouse

- When creating a channel Warehouse, you must specify the associated channel partner. The associated channel partner is linked via a lookup to the Account object and can be selected from Accounts.
- Only one Warehouse can be set as the default; non-default Warehouses can be multiple.
- When you create the first channel Warehouse, the newly created Warehouse is automatically set as the default Warehouse.
- When creating subsequent channel Warehouses, you can choose whether to set the new Warehouse as the default.
- If multiple channel Warehouses exist, you can change the default Warehouse by editing a Warehouse record.
3. Configure Applicable Users, Departments, and Accounts for a Channel Warehouse
- The default data access level for a Warehouse is Public; you can set it to Private.
- The Warehouse’s Applicable Users and Applicable Departments take effect only when creating a channel Sales Order.
- When creating a channel Sales Order, the user must be within the Warehouse’s Applicable Users or Applicable Departments to place an order from that Warehouse.
- When creating a channel Sales Order, the Account (customer) must be within the Warehouse’s Applicable Accounts to place an order from that Warehouse.
- Both restriction conditions above apply together (logical AND) and must be satisfied simultaneously.
