Product Overview: Object Change Management

1. Use Case

During the execution of a procurement Contract, both parties may need to modify the original terms. After mutual agreement, they sign a Procurement Amendment. The business system must then apply changes to the original Contract records according to the Amendment's content.

2. Feature Details

2.1 Change Record

When data of an object is modified, a Change Record captures detailed modification information and provides version-difference analysis. The Change Record feature can apply to any object, but because each object requires specific adaptation, the current release supports Change Records only for Contract and Sales Order objects.

2.2 Value Proposition

  1. Documented Transaction: The Change Record acts as the transactional document for processing change requests and drives subsequent adjustments to records;
  2. Change Tracking: Change Records support create, update, and delete operations on object data. After completing the changes and approving them via the workflow, the system applies the updates to the object data and increments the data version. The system also records detailed Report entries and offers version-difference analysis;
  3. Difference Comparison: Change Reports record each change version and the modified content, enabling comparison of data before and after modifications.
