Contacts Isolation

1. Contacts Isolation

Contacts Isolation allows you to configure isolation for Contacts so that isolated Departments cannot be accessed by other Departments. This ensures departmental contact data remains separate, improving information security and confidentiality.

1.1 Basic Settings

Contacts Isolation is disabled by default and can be enabled. Disabling it will clear all isolated Departments and user groups.

You can configure isolated Departments and isolated user groups, and you can exempt specific employees from Contacts Isolation. Examples: employees not belonging to any Department, and super users who can view all Contacts.

  • Employees not belonging to any Department
Options: hide employees who do not belong to any Department; allow employees who do not belong to any Department to only see themselves; do not receive company-wide work messages.

  • Super users who can view all Contacts
Super users are not affected by Department isolation settings and can see all Departments and employees in Contacts.

1.2 Isolated Departments

When configuring isolated Departments, you can set whether to hide them in Contacts, restrict Contacts viewing and whitelists, and whether they receive work messages.

  • Hide in Contacts
Choose to hide the isolated Department in Contacts. Other Departments will not find the isolated Department via Contacts, preserving its independence and privacy.

  • Restrict Contacts viewing and whitelist access
Configure whether isolated Department members can view the full Contacts or only entries on a specific whitelist. When enabled, only authorized members can view Contacts information; others cannot access those Contacts.

  • Receive work messages
Choose whether isolated Department members can receive work messages from other Departments. If disabled, isolated Department members receive only messages from their own Department, reducing cross-department noise.

1.3 Isolated User Groups

When configuring isolated user groups, you can set whether to hide them in Contacts. Options include: Not Hidden, Default Hidden, and show to Whitelist / hide from Blacklist.

Whether to hide in Contacts: three options are available:

  • Not Hidden
The isolated user group’s information is visible in Contacts and accessible to everyone.

  • Default Hidden
The isolated user group’s information is hidden by default in Contacts. Others cannot find the user group unless they are authorized.

  • Show to Whitelist / Hide from Blacklist
Create a whitelist and a Blacklist. Whitelisted users can see the user group even if it is Default Hidden. Blacklisted users cannot see the user group even if it is set to Not Hidden.

These options can be flexibly configured to protect the privacy and security of isolated user groups.
