Contacts Isolation

I. Contacts Isolation

Contacts Isolation allows you to restrict access to contact information between departments. Once enabled, isolated departments cannot access each other’s contact details, ensuring data independence and enhancing information security.

1.1 Basic Settings

Contacts Isolation is disabled by default. When enabled, all previously isolated departments and user groups will be cleared.
You can configure isolated departments and user groups, while also setting exceptions for certain employees who can bypass isolation controls. For example: - Employees not assigned to any department
- Super employees with full Contacts access

Settings for employees not assigned to any department:
- Hide unassigned employees
- Unassigned employees can only view their own information
- Unassigned employees won’t receive company-wide work messages

Super employees with full Contacts access:
Super employees are exempt from department isolation settings and can view all departments and employees in Contacts.

1.2 Isolated Departments

When setting up isolated departments, you can configure: - Hide in Contacts: Choose whether to hide the isolated department from the Contacts directory, ensuring its privacy and independence. - Restrict Contacts access & whitelist: Control whether isolated department members can view the entire Contacts or only specific whitelisted entries. When enabled, only authorized members can access contact information. - Receive work messages: Determine if isolated department members can receive work messages from other departments. When disabled, they’ll only receive messages from their own department.

When configuring isolated user groups, you can set visibility options in Contacts: - No hiding: The user group remains fully visible to everyone in Contacts. - Hidden by default: The user group is hidden from Contacts by default, accessible only to authorized users. - Visible to whitelist, hidden from Blacklist:
- Whitelisted users can see the group even if it’s set as hidden
- Blacklisted users cannot see the group even if it’s set as visible

These flexible settings help maintain the privacy and security of isolated user groups.
