Configuring Data Permissions Within Departments
Every business object includes a Dept. attribute. For each Dept., you can configure data access controls for object records based on Dept. membership. There are three available visibility types:
-
Local Dept. data visible:
Example: A is the local Dept., B is a child Dept. All members of Dept. A can view records assigned to Dept. A. -
Local and subordinate Depts. data visible:
Example: A is the local Dept., B is a child Dept. All members of Dept. A can view records assigned to Dept. A and Dept. B. -
Mutual visibility between local Dept. and child Depts.:
Example: A is the local Dept., B is a child Dept. All members of Depts. A and B can view records assigned to either Dept. A or Dept. B.
Similar to Dept.-level data permissions, if a tenant enables the multi-organization feature, you can also set object-level data access controls scoped to each organization.
