Spare Parts Consumption (New)
Prerequisites
This document covers the new version of spare parts consumption. The Simple Mode, Standard Mode, and Advanced Mode of spare parts management all support the new version, though some features may differ.
Note: If your organization is using the legacy version of spare parts consumption, we strongly recommend upgrading to the new version. To upgrade, please contact ShareCRM Support.
Scenario Overview
Service providers or repair centers consume a certain number of spare parts during Work Order processing. Some spare parts are used for installation and are directly consumed as New Parts, while others are used for repairs and may either consume New Parts or involve the return of used parts. These scenarios are recorded through spare parts consumption.
Key Enhancements in the New Version
Compared to the legacy version, the new spare parts consumption system offers significant functional improvements, including but not limited to:
- Upgraded to a master-detail structure, allowing multiple spare parts to be consumed in a single transaction.
- Supports consumption from both personal stock and Spare Parts Warehouse (Spare Parts Warehouse consumption is only available in Advanced Mode).
- Supports batch and serial numbers (Advanced Mode only).
- Used parts can be selected directly from the device BOM.
- Automatically updates the device BOM after consumption.
- Automatically generates device BOM replacement records (Advanced Mode only).
- New Parts can be selected from the service BOM (Advanced Mode only).
