1. Prerequisites

The Material Return Order object is initialized only when Spare Parts Management is set to Advanced Mode and the system uses the new Spare Parts Consumption. Simple Mode or the legacy Spare Parts mode do not initialize this object.

Note: If your organization has enabled Advanced Mode for Spare Parts Management but the Material Return Order object does not appear in Service Connector, your organization may still be using the legacy Spare Parts Consumption. You must upgrade to the new version before the Material Return Order object can be initialized and used.

2. Use case overview

Use a Material Return Order when technicians need to return issued good-condition spare parts or when repaired/returned old parts must be sent back to inventory.

3. Creating a Material Return Order

• In the Web, go to Service Connector -> Spare Parts Management.
• Click Material Return Orders to open the Material Return Orders list.

Click the New button in the upper-right corner to create a Material Return Order.

When creating a Material Return Order, first choose the return mode: Return Based on Request or Return Based on Inventory.

When you select Return Based on Request, return line items are selected from Spare Parts Request lines. You may select multiple Spare Parts Requests for a single return.

When you select Return Based on Inventory, you can pick items either from the Spare Parts Warehouse inventory or from a technician’s personal inventory.

After a Material Return Order is confirmed, the system creates the corresponding outbound shipment or Material Return Order (退料单), and deducts quantities from the Spare Parts Warehouse inventory or the technician’s personal inventory lines.

4. Return receipt and stocking

When the receiving warehouse accepts the returned parts, perform the receipt action on the corresponding Material Return Order.

After receipt, the receiving warehouse’s inventory increases accordingly.
