Prerequisites

The Material Return Order object is only initialized when the Spare Parts Advanced Mode is enabled and the new version of spare parts consumption is in use. This feature is not applicable to Simple Mode or standard Spare Parts Management modes.

Note: If your organization has enabled Spare Parts Advanced Mode but cannot display the Material Return Order object in Service Connector, you may be using the legacy version of spare parts consumption. An upgrade to the new version is required to initialize and use this feature.

Scenario Overview

Material Return Orders can be created to facilitate the return of functional spare parts requested by engineers or the retrieval of repaired used components.

Creating a Material Return Order

• In the Web interface, navigate to Service Connector > Spare Parts Management.
• Click Material Return Order to access the list view.

Click the New button in the upper-right corner to create a Material Return Order.

When creating a Material Return Order, first select the return mode: Request-based Return or Inventory-based Return.

• Request-based Return

For request-based returns, select spare parts from the application details. Multiple spare part requests can be processed in a single return operation.

For inventory-based returns, spare parts can be selected from either the main Inventory or an engineer’s personal stock.

Upon confirmation, the Material Return Order generates corresponding outbound or return documents and deducts quantities from the Warehouse or the engineer’s personal inventory.

Return Receipt and Inventory Update

When returned spare parts are received by the designated warehouse, the corresponding Material Return Order can be marked as received.

This action increases the inventory count in the return warehouse.
