3.2 Dispatcher fills additional information when assigning

When a dispatcher assigns an Engineer or a collaborating Engineer, they may need to provide additional details, such as scheduling an on-site time for the Engineer or adding assignment notes.

  • Enable a secondary confirmation modal at the assignment node.
  1. Engineer planned service time: Includes planned start time and planned end time (previously called Assign Start Time and Assign End Time). These represent the dispatcher’s expected start and completion times for the Engineer on the current Work Order.

    (a) This populates the Gantt chart time blocks for Engineers.

    (b) This applies to the planned start and end times of the Fieldwork node (Fieldwork feature has been deprecated; new customers no longer have this feature). If the Engineer does not check in onsite and complete the Fieldwork plan within the planned times, the system will flag Fieldwork timeout and generate exception alerts.

    1. When enabled, dispatchers enter the Engineer’s Planned Start Service and Planned End Service times during assignment.
    2. The organization can preset default values using custom calculation formulas or functions. Configure default values on the Work Order object fields: Planned Start Service (field_zpfwsj__c) and Planned End Service (field_assign_endtime__c).
    3. If Planned Start Service is empty or earlier than the assignment time, the system sets Planned Start Service = Assignment Time + 2 hours.
    4. If Planned End Service is empty or earlier than Planned Start Service, the system sets Planned End Service = Planned Start Service + 1 hour.
  2. Assignment field entry: After assigning an Engineer, the dispatcher must fill in or edit specified Work Order fields (for example, Assignment Notes).
