Reassign Engineer
1. Work Order Reassignment
- Navigation: Open the Work Order detail page, then click the “Reassign Engineer” or “Reassign Collaborating Engineer” button on the detail page.
- When reassigning, the system pre-populates the engineers currently assigned to the Work Order. You can choose to reassign some of them. Note: service groups typically allow reassignment only to engineers within the same service group.
- After reassignment, the new engineer will be set as the assignee for subsequent workflow nodes (the current task assignee is set from Work Order.Engineer or Work Order.Collaborating Engineer fields; when you reassign an engineer, the system updates the current task assignee automatically. If the task assignee is configured using other logic—e.g., “Manager of Owner”—use the “Change Assignee” button instead). Note: some customized workflow nodes require a trigger function to update the task assignee to the new engineer.

2. Reassign Button Configuration
- Go to the Work Order object > Buttons. Click Edit on the Reassign button to configure display conditions, on-click actions, validations, and post-actions.
- Assign visibility permissions for the Reassign button by Role; typically grant it only to the Dispatcher Role.
- Note: verify each detail page layout includes the button so it is visible where needed.
