3-Minute Quick Guide to Device Code Solution
ShareCRM provides different solutions to accommodate varying device code scenarios across enterprises
1. Device QR Codes
Scenario 1: For new devices, create a record in the CRM "Device" object, generate the device code from ShareCRM, and manually affix the QR code to the device.
Solution: Device QR Code (generated by ShareCRM)
Scenario 2: For new devices, the manufacturer generates QR codes with a device-code printer and affixes them during production; device data is synchronized to the ShareCRM "Device" object at shipping. ShareCRM provides a link format to assist QR code generation.
Scenario 3: Deployed devices require new QR codes to be affixed after deployment. Support pre‑generating blank QR codes and later associating them with devices at subsequent business stages.
Scenario 4: Deployed devices already have QR codes that link to other systems.
Solution: Unrecognizable by ShareCRM; replacement is only possible using dynamic device QR codes. See Scenario 3
2. Device Barcodes (or QR Codes Without Links)
Scenario 1: For new devices that already have records in the CRM "Device" object, generate barcodes from ShareCRM.
Scenario 2: For new devices, the manufacturer generates barcodes with a barcode printer during production.
Scenario 3: Deployed devices already have barcodes generated by barcode printers.
