1. Business Scenario Overview

Through device IoT integration, you can monitor devices across their full lifecycle, collect real-time operational data (temperature, vibration, energy consumption, etc.), automatically diagnose Fault types and trigger alerts. The system can also auto-create Work Orders and assign engineers for on-site service, turning reactive support into proactive service and reducing unplanned downtime by up to 60% on average.

Applicable scenarios: - Preventive maintenance for critical equipment on industrial production lines - Intervention for anomalies in energy equipment (e.g., wind turbines, PV inverters) - Remote parameter calibration and consumables alerts for medical devices

2. Enabling Device IoT

• The Device IoT feature must be enabled manually. Path: Service Connector -> System Settings -> Device Management -> Device IoT;
• Once enabled, Device IoT cannot be disabled;
• After enabling device Asset BOM, the system initializes objects such as Instrument Point Type, Instrument Point, and Instrument Point Readings;
• Device IoT requires integration with an IoT platform to obtain device operational data and synchronize it to ShareCRM.

3. Device IoT Integration Options

Whether using mainstream third-party IoT platforms or a customer’s in-house platform, you can integrate them with ShareCRM.

• IoT Instrument Points: Abstract different types of measurement points from the IoT platform into CRM IoT Instrument Points and synchronize them to the CRM’s Instrument Point object.
• IoT Instrument Point Readings: Synchronize measurement readings or device status/IoT Fault alert events from the IoT platform into the CRM’s Instrument Point Readings object.

The CRM currently supports three methods to obtain IoT platform data: - The IoT platform pushes data to the CRM via the CRM OpenAPI (highest real-time capability). - The CRM queries the IoT platform using custom functions plus scheduled tasks. - The CRM polls the IoT platform via an integration connector.
