1. Business Use Scenario

• Devices are high-value assets. Most companies apply detailed asset management and create a lifecycle record for each device, including device source, installation and acceptance records, activation date, usage status, multi-level maintenance records, extended-use situations, reclamation, and disposal.

2. When a Device Lifecycle Record Is Created

• No separate activation is required. When the Device feature is enabled, the system automatically initializes the Device lifecycle object (API name: DeviceLifeCycleObj).

Device creation: Manually create a device or the system creates devices automatically through a Shipping Order.

Device maintenance: A Work Order is associated with the device and the Work Order status changes to Completed.

Device reclamation: The Account field value changes from a specific account to empty.

Device decommissioning: The Status field value changes from Available to Disabled.

Device activation: The Status field value changes from Disabled to Available.

Beyond the predefined scenarios above, users can define custom device event types and write custom lifecycle events into the device record through functions or other methods.
