1.1 Use Cases

A cross table displays data across two dimensions (rows and columns) within a selected data range. For example, you can use a cross table to compare how different Account levels progress from Leads to Orders across industries.

1.2 Chart Configuration

1.2.1 Axis Data

  • Dimensions: up to 5 dimensions
  • Metrics: 1–30 metrics

1.2.2 Style (Web)

1.2.2.1 Basic Information
  • Chart Name: when created, defaults to the analysis Subject name. You can edit it to a custom chart name in Chart Configuration.

  • Notes:
    • Note content: you can add notes to the chart to help viewers understand its meaning.
    • Note display styles:
      • Collapsed: show an icon after the chart title in detail and card views; hover to view note content.
      • Exposed: show note text directly after the title in detail and card views.
      • Hidden: do not display notes in any view.

  • Metric Name: displays the metric name by default; you can edit the display text and add an optional business description and choose whether to show it.

  • Dimension Name: displays the dimension name by default; you can edit the display text.

1.2.2.2 Display Settings
  • Auto-wrap dimension values: off by default; can toggle on
    • No wrap: when a dimension value exceeds the cell width, it hides and shows the full value on hover.
    • Wrap: the value wraps automatically when it exceeds the cell width.

  • Column width: default fills the page; you can switch to not fill the page.

  • Row height: default Comfortable; can switch to Compact.

  • Show totals:
    • Display mode: default is on; you can turn it off. When on, totals appear in edit, detail, and card views according to configuration. When off, totals do not appear in any view.

  • Exposed totals: when there are two or more metrics, you can select which totals to expose; by default none are selected. If Display mode is Off, this option becomes read-only.
  • Card view totals: checked by default; uncheck to hide totals in card view. If Display mode is Off, this option becomes read-only.

  • Advanced styling: through Advanced Configuration, users can customize font size, bold, font color, center alignment, table style, and restore defaults.

  • Attribute field order: when a dimension includes an Attribute field and Attribute dimension is enabled, you can set the Attribute fields’ order. By default, Attributes display to the left of the primary Attribute field; you can switch them to the right.

1.2.3 Functional Configuration

1.2.3.1 Basic Configuration
  • Horizontal totals: checked by default and shown at the bottom; you can switch to show at the top. If unchecked, top/bottom become read-only.

  • Vertical totals: checked by default and shown on the right; you can switch to the left. If unchecked, left/right become read-only.

1.2.3.2 Advanced Configuration
  • Sorting: Off by default. When enabled, you can sort a dimension by its own values with Top N or sort a dimension based on a specific metric with Top N. Top N supports preset values or manual entry.
  • When the dimension is an enumeration or a Dept. field, custom sorting is supported.

  • Show dimensions with metric = 0: off by default. Check to display dimensions whose metric value equals zero.

  • SN: off by default. When checked, display sequence numbers for row groups only.

1.2.4 Style (Mobile)

1.2.4.1 Follow Web Layout
  • Mobile displays follow the Web layout and cannot be set independently.

1.2.4.2 Independent Layout Configuration
  • By default, mobile reflects the selected Web configuration but you can further adjust it for better mobile presentation.
    • Mobile supports a subset of Web configuration options. Options not available on mobile follow the Web settings. Configurable options behave the same as on Web.
