Overview
BI components display analytics content on home pages, custom pages, object pages, and portal pages. Administrators add components through page templates or layouts and select an existing chart, dashboard, or BI resource. Components do not store data; instead, they reference existing BI resources by resource ID. The same resource can be reused on multiple pages, and updates to it are automatically synchronized wherever it is referenced.

What Are BI Components?
BI components are analytics modules embedded in CRM business pages. Each component is bound to a BI resource, such as a chart, dashboard, filter, chart split-screen view, or preset analysis. After an administrator configures a component in a page template or object layout, the system mounts the resource in its designated area when rendering the page.
Placement Model
BI components follow a four-level placement model: Page → Layout → Component Slot → Resource.
- Page: Home pages, custom pages, object detail pages, object list pages, partner portals, and site portals. Each page type has its own list of supported components.
- Layout: A page can contain multiple layouts, such as web and mobile layouts. Components can be configured independently for each layout on the same page.
- Component slot: A fixed slot in a layout. Each slot supports a specific component type and has a maximum number of components.
- Resource: An instance of a BI resource, such as a chart or dashboard. When adding a component, select a resource from the available resource pool, which is constrained by the object subject, permissions, and data scope.
How Components Work Together
BI components on a page do not operate in isolation. Filters provide global coordination:
- Filters define date and personnel criteria that apply to all charts and dashboards on the page.
- Administrators can determine which charts participate in filtering and can allow viewers to temporarily change the filter criteria.
- On object detail pages, charts can also receive properties of the current object through input rules (such as the primary property ID or related fields), enabling data to switch based on the current object context.
Dashboards and chart split-screen views do not participate in filter interactions; each maintains its own set of charts and arrangement.
