Configure BI chart operation permissions for a business role and verify the result.

Before You Begin

[!IMPORTANT] - Role permissions: You need CRM admin or report admin permissions. - Prerequisite knowledge: Understand the basic concept of subject domains. See Core Terms.

Step 1: Configure Role Permissions for a Subject Domain

  1. Go to Setup > Role Permission Management > Manage Functional Permissions.
  2. Select the role to configure (for example, Sales Rep).
  3. In the BI section, find the target subject domain (for example, Account Analysis).
  4. Select the operation permissions to grant: View, Edit, Delete.
  5. Click Save.

Step 2: Verify Menu Visibility

Log in to CRM as a user with the configured role:
  • Confirm that the Reports menu is now visible in the left navigation.
  • Open the report list page and confirm the Account Analysis subject domain appears.

Step 3: Set Chart-Level Private Permissions

  1. Log in with an account that has report admin permissions.
  2. Create a chart under the Account Analysis subject domain.
  3. In the chart permission settings, set the view permission to Private.
  4. Select the target role (for example, Sales Rep) as the visible scope.
  5. Save the chart.

Step 4: Verify the Private Permission Effect

  1. Log in as a sales rep.
  2. Go to Reports > Account Analysis.
  3. Confirm that the chart shared by the admin is visible.
  4. Try to edit the chart and confirm that editing is not available.

Expected Result

  • The sales rep sees the Reports menu and the Account Analysis subject domain.
  • The sales rep can view the private chart shared by the admin.
  • Without edit permission, the Edit button is unavailable.
