Create a Product Rebate form.

Overview

A Product Rebate is a rebate of specific products or goods that a company gives to downstream distributors or customers. The distributor can claim the corresponding product on the next order. After the rebate product line is added, its deal price and deal amount are both 0.

Before you start

[!IMPORTANT] - The rebate system is enabled. - The Customer Fund Account system is enabled and configured.

The Product Rebate form list lets you view and manage Product Rebate forms.

Create a Product Rebate form

  1. On the rebate form list, click New.
  2. Select Product Rebate.
  3. Fill in the subject, Applicable Account, and validity period.
  4. Select the Usage Method and enter the total amount or quantity.
  5. Configure the product conditions and rebate products.
  6. Save the rebate form.

Field descriptions

  • Subject: Enter the name of the rebate form.
  • Applicable Account: Select the customer that owns the rebate form.
  • Enable Status: Set whether the rebate form is enabled. Only enabled rebate forms can be used.
  • Rebate type: Select the rebate form type, such as Product Rebate.
  • Usage Method: Select how the Product Rebate is redeemed.
    • Rebate by Quantity: Total limits the total quantity of rebate products.
    • Rebate by Amount: Total limits the total amount of rebate products.
  • Total: Enter the total value of the rebate form, such as 5,000. The meaning depends on Usage Method.
  • Used: The system automatically counts how much of the rebate has been used, by amount or quantity.
  • Remaining: The system automatically calculates the remaining rebate amount or quantity.
  • Effective date: Set the start date when the rebate form becomes available.
  • Expiration date: Set the end date when the rebate form becomes unavailable.
  • Owner: Select the employee responsible for the rebate form.
  • Assigned Department: Select the department that owns the rebate form.
  • Posted: Read-only. Shows whether the rebate form has been posted to a Customer Fund Account.
  • Posting account: Read-only. If the form is posted, shows which account received it.
  • Rebate generation policy and rebate generation rule: If the rebate form comes from a system-generated rebate policy, this field records the source policy and rule. Otherwise, it is empty.
  • Original Value of Rebate Generation: Used to calculate the source document value for this rebate form.
  • Expected rebate: The rebate value calculated from Original Value of Rebate Generation and the generation rule. By default, Total equals Expected rebate.
  • Rebate Generation Batch: Records which batch this recurring rebate belongs to.
  • Product conditions: Define which products an order must include before it can use this rebate.
    • All products: Any product on the order can use this rebate.
    • Specified range: Use any field on the product object as a condition. Only products that match the condition can use this rebate.
    • Designated Product: The order must include specific products before it can use this rebate.
  • Rebate products: Define which products the customer can receive as rebate products.
    • All products: The customer can choose any product as a rebate product.
    • Specified range: Use any field on the product object as a condition. The customer can choose only products that match the condition as rebate products.
    • Designated Product: The customer can choose only specific products as rebate products.

Expected results and verification

  • The rebate form appears in the rebate form list.
  • The rebate product scope matches the rebate rules.
  • The order can generate rebate product lines during usage.

FAQ

  • If rebate products cannot be selected, check whether the product conditions are too restrictive.
  • If rebate products cannot be used, confirm that the rebate form has been posted.
