Aggregation rules overview
Understand the aggregation rule configuration system.
Overview
Aggregation rules calculate document fields into result values. Pricing policies and rebate rules can reference these results.
Management value
Administrators can use aggregation rules to calculate amounts or quantities in orders, quotes, and their details.
After pricing policies and rebate rules reference aggregation results, they can process complex conditions and bundle promotions.
Key concepts
| Concept | Definition | Management use |
|---|---|---|
| Aggregation type | Selects the time scope of documents to aggregate. | Distinguishes current-order aggregation from historical aggregation. |
| Aggregation result type | Selects the aggregation value type. | Distinguishes standard aggregation values from product combinations. |
| Aggregation object | Selects the document object to calculate. | Determines whether to calculate master objects or detail objects. |
| Aggregation field | Selects the object field to calculate. | Determines the amount, quantity, or other field to calculate. |
| Data scope | Further limits the calculation scope through aggregation conditions. | Limits products, accounts, or other business conditions. |

Aggregation result types
| Result type | Usage |
|---|---|
| Standard aggregation value | Can be used as a condition, such as the condition for running a promotion or rebate. |
| Product combination | Used only for pricing policy bundle promotions. It can identify the promoted product scope and also serve as an order condition. |
Application scope
Aggregation rules can be used in:
- Pricing policy rule conditions.
- Threshold conditions in pricing policy execution results.
- Rebate usage conditions on rebate forms.
- Rebate amount threshold calculation.
- Rebate amount full-amount calculation formulas.
