Configure campaign rules
Standardize Campaign data permissions, campaign status, and customer acquisition handoff methods.
Overview
Campaigns capture acquisition activities such as exhibitions, conferences, ads, and content marketing. Administrators define visibility, status, and campaign members first. Then they standardize the lead handoff model so teams can evaluate campaign performance and Lead conversion.
Before you begin
[!IMPORTANT] - Role permission: CRM administrator or marketing operations administrator. - Prerequisite configuration: The Campaign object is enabled. - Dependencies: To receive ShareMarketing Leads automatically, complete the integration between ShareMarketing and CRM first.
Configure campaign base rules
- In CRM Management > Standard Object Management, open the Campaign object.
- In Field Management, confirm that fields such as campaign type, campaign status, planned cost, and actual cost are enabled.

- In Business Process, configure the status flow from Planned to In Progress, Ended, and Terminated.
- In Page Layout, place campaign members, associated Leads, and cost fields where business users can access them easily.

- In Data Permission Management, configure visibility for the owner, Related Teams, subordinates, and shared objects.

- Save the configuration.
Configure acquisition handoff
- In the Campaign object, confirm that the Campaign Members related list is enabled.

- Based on the campaign source, choose manual addition, import, API integration, or automatic ShareMarketing synchronization for campaign members.
- For campaigns that must generate Sales Leads, confirm that the lead source field can record the campaign name or channel.
- If campaign Leads must enter a specific Lead Pool, confirm that Lead Pool rules are configured before import or synchronization.
- To evaluate ROI, make sure planned cost, actual cost, and lead source fields are available for reports.
Validation
- Use a marketing operations account to create a Campaign.
- Move the Campaign status from Planned to In Progress.
- Add a campaign member, then associate or generate a Sales Lead.
- Use a sales account to open the Sales Lead details. Confirm that the lead source traces back to the Campaign.
- Use a supervisor account to view the Campaign list. Confirm that data permissions match expectations.
