Configure WeChat channels

Let downstream users enter configured external business services through WeChat.
📝
Screenshots from the original manual help you locate settings. Follow the confirmed Description when older interface names, statuses, or the displayed Quantity differ.

Before you begin

❗
  • Complete the required app and portal configuration.
  • Ask the WeChat Official Account administrator to authorize the service account.
  • Complete integration or hosting before using a Mini Program channel.
  • Meet the license and payment requirements for WeChat login capabilities.

Select a channel

Channel Platform configuration focus
WeChat Service Account Binding authorization, follow guidance, menu settings, and message settings
WeChat Mini Program Associate integrated Mini Programs with business entry points and select applicable login methods
Select service accounts and Mini Programs for your business needs. Platform configuration depends on existing app authorization and does not replace business initialization.

Bind a WeChat Service Account

  1. In External Settings, open WeChat Official Account binding and select Bind now.
  2. Ask the account administrator to scan the QR Code and authorize access.
  3. After authorization, check the information generated in WeChat Service Account.

  4. Open the service account’s menu settings.
  5. Configure entry points for the required external business services or portal.
  6. Configure template messages and follow guidance as needed.
Follow guidance for a WeChat Service Account
The original documentation supports service account authorization only. Subscription accounts are unsupported. Follow guidance can prompt users to bind their external accounts.
If authorization does not meet integration requirements, check WeChat’s third-party authorization limit and any missing required permissions.

Associate a service account with a portal

  1. Open Access settings in the site details.
  2. Check the bound WeChat Official Account.

  3. Open the account menu through its configuration entry.
  4. Select the target portal or external business Address for the menu.
  5. Use an applicable External User account to enter the business service from that menu.
Bind the service account first if none is bound. Select login methods in the channel or site configuration.
A menu click does not grant business permissions.

Use the WeChat Mini Program channel

The platform can display integrated or hosted Mini Program information. These entries serve configured apps and portals.
Have the responsible personnel complete Mini Program creation, qualification requirements, and full integration first.
  1. Check whether the portal’s access settings display an applicable Mini Program.
  2. Confirm the external app access scenario that it supports.
  3. Select applicable methods in the app, channel, or site’s mobile login settings.
  4. Enter the business service through the Mini Program and verify account binding and role scope.
The original documentation marks some direct Mini Program-to-portal associations as planned capabilities. Do not assume every entry supports this operation.
If the platform displays no Mini Program entry, a browser URL cannot replace full integration.

Login methods and WeChat binding

Mini Programs can use configured mobile or email login methods. Quick mobile verification is a paid WeChat Official Accounts Platform capability.
Account Security settings can restrict each external account to one WeChat identity.

Verify and adjust

  • Service account authorization succeeds, and its menu points to the correct business service.
  • Follow guidance matches the account binding process.
  • Mini Program entries, identities, and app authorization match.
  • Different downstream roles access only their authorized business services.
Recheck existing entries after changing menus, login methods, or Account Security parameters. Confirm the active account identity before changing a binding.
