Maintain and view multilingual business data

Before you begin

An administrator must enable multiple languages for the target object and text fields. Business users can maintain translated values only for fields that display a multiple-language entry point.

Maintain multilingual values

  1. Create or edit the target business record.
  2. Open the multiple-language entry point beside an enabled field.
  3. Enter the default value and values for the languages enabled by the enterprise.
  4. Save the record.
  5. View lists and details with accounts using different languages and confirm the result.

View and search

  • If the current-language value is maintained, the page displays it.
  • If it is missing, the page may display the default value as a fallback.
  • Search uses maintained values in the current language. A visible fallback value is not necessarily searchable in that language.
[!NOTE] If a field has no multiple-language entry point, ask an administrator to confirm that the object and field are enabled in Data Translation Settings.
