Configure a plugin
Configure and map a field-level plugin for an object and selected Record Types.
Overview
You can apply standard or custom-developed plugins to fields for specific objects and Record Types.
Before you begin
[!IMPORTANT] - Permissions: You must be a System Administrator. - Create the target object, Record Types, and target fields. - For a custom plugin, confirm that a developer registered it on the ShareCRM plugin platform.
Procedure
- Go to Setup > Object Management > Object Plugin Management.
- Click New Plugin Configuration, or edit an existing configuration.
- Under Select Plugin, select the Object, one or more Record Types, and the Plugin Name.
- Under Configure Fields, map plugin inputs and outputs to existing object fields. Create any missing field in Object Management first.
- Click Save.
Verify the configuration
- Sign in as a user with permission to the object.
- Create or edit a record with a selected Record Type.
- Confirm that the plugin component renders and works in the mapped field.
