How to use the data cleaning tool
Merge duplicate data in accounts, contacts, and leads.
Overview
The data cleaning tool removes duplicate data. It supports batch cleaning for accounts, contacts, and sales leads, helping enterprises reduce invalid data and retain usable information.

Before you begin
- You have permission to access data maintenance tools.
- You have confirmed the cleaning target objects.
- You have confirmed the cleaning rules.
- You have assessed the impact of merging duplicate data.
Access
Go to Admin Console > CRM Management > Data Maintenance Tools > Cleaning Tool.
Limitations
- Only supports preset objects: accounts, contacts, and sales leads.
- The cleaning scope covers data created before midnight of the previous day.
- Cleaning includes voided data.
- Cleaning runs between
00:00and06:00the next day.

Steps
- Open the Cleaning Tool.
- Select the cleaning target object.
- Set or adjust cleaning rules.
- Submit the cleaning task.
- After the task completes, review the cleaning results.
Configuration recommendations
- Before cleaning, determine which data to keep and which to merge.
- For custom cleaning rules, prioritize stable and highly unique field combinations.
- Export and back up key data before cleaning.
- After cleaning, spot-check key fields and relationships on accounts, contacts, and sales leads.
Risk notices
- Cleaning includes voided data.
- Cleaning tasks run during the system time window and cannot be used as real-time deduplication.
- Merging duplicate data affects subsequent queries, reports, and related object display. Validate rules on a small dataset first.
