Field display name settings
Configure different display names for the same field across different record types.
Use case
When an object has multiple record types, administrators can set different front-end display names for the same field. This is useful when different business lines share a field but use different terminology.
Configuration
- Open the target object’s information page and go to Field Display Name Settings.
- Select the record type to configure, and enter the display name for the target field under that record type.
- After saving, go to the front-end creation or editing page to verify the field display.
[!NOTE] - Field display name settings affect only the front-end display. - When the back-end setting differs from the front-end display in the layout page, the front-end display follows the field display name settings.
