Configure a Pipeline and stage rules for an Object.
Overview
A Pipeline moves an Object through predefined stages. You can configure the Trigger Object, Applicable Scope, External process, triggers, filters, stage Settings, and Pipeline publishing.
Key capabilities
A Pipeline lets you configure an Object Field as a Pipeline so users can complete Stage Advancement in a fixed order. Based on the Trigger Object, stage configuration supports Opportunity pipelines and pipelines for other objects.
Opportunity pipelines
An Opportunity pipeline manages advancement from Verify Account, Requirement Confirmation, Proposal / Quote, and Negotiation Approval to Closed Won or Closed Lost. It includes these capabilities:
- Bind an Opportunity Stage Field: After you select Opportunity as the Trigger Object, select the Opportunity Stage Field for Stage Advancement. Each Object can bind only one Field to a Pipeline. You can Edit the Field only when it has No Data.
- Configure the Applicable Scope: Select the users or Organization scope that can use the Pipeline, such as designated users or the whole Company.
- Support External processes: Enable an External process and select External Apps when external collaboration is required.
- Select and sort Opportunity stages: Select stages from the unselected list, Add them to the selected list, and drag them to adjust the Display Order.
- Maintain the Win Rate: An Opportunity pipeline can display and Edit win rates, such as Verify Account 10%, Requirement Confirmation 30%, Proposal / Quote 60%, Negotiation Approval 80%, and Closed Won 100%.
- Distinguish Stage Status: Opportunity stages usually include In Progress, Closed Won, and Closed Lost Status values. This helps distinguish active stages from terminal stages.
- Configure Stage Display/Hide Configuration: Add APL code to control whether a Stage is Visible based on business rules.
- Configure Stage Reversion Content: Configure the Content users must fill in during Stage Reversion. You can use default Content or a process layout, and use APL code to control display conditions By Field.
Pipelines for other objects
Pipelines for other objects apply to Account, Lead, Custom Object, and other non-Opportunity objects. They include these capabilities:
- Select the Object and Stage Field: Select Account, Lead, Custom Object, or another Object as the Trigger Object. Then select a Single Select Field as the Stage Field. Each Object can bind only one Field to a Pipeline. You can modify it only when it has No Data.
- Configure the Applicable Scope and External process: Configure which users or organizations can use the Pipeline. If external collaboration is required, Enable the External process and select External Apps.
- Generate stages from Field options: The System generates available stages from the selected Single Select options, such as Account Level values for paid accounts, Regular Account, free accounts, Important accounts, and Key Account.
- Select and sort stages: Select stages from the unselected list, Add them to the selected list, and drag them to adjust Display Order.
- Configure Stage Type: For non-Opportunity objects, you can set each Stage Type to Standard stage, Terminal stage - Success, or Terminal stage - Failed.
- Delete selected stages: If a Field option does not need to appear in the Pipeline, Delete it from the selected stage list.
- Continue configuring stage rules: After stage selection, continue to Configure display or hide rules, reversion Content, stage tasks, and subsequent process rules.
Before you begin
- You have Pipeline configuration permission.
- You have confirmed the Trigger Object.
- You have confirmed the Single Select Field used for Stage Advancement.
- You have confirmed which users can use the Pipeline.
Step 1: Configure Basic Info

Step 2: Configure the External process
If External Personnel need to participate in the Pipeline, Enable the External process.
After you Enable it, you can select External Apps such as ShareOrder, dispatch work orders, SharePartner, Equipment assets, Service apps, ordering malls, and equipment query apps.
When you Configure an External Node:
- Select Set as External Node.
- The System automatically synchronizes the External Apps selected in Basic Info.
- In Who handles this business, Add a Downstream Enterprise personnel variable.
Step 3: Configure the trigger

[!WARNING] The same Object can select only one Single Select Field for the Pipeline. After you Save it, you cannot update it.
Step 4: Configure the filter
When a Pipeline is triggered manually, the System validates filter conditions. Users can Trigger the Pipeline only after the data Pass the filter.
Filter conditions Support:
- Current Object Field.
- Related Object Field.
- Owner primary Department.
- Personnel.
- Personnel attributes.
[!NOTE] Opportunity 2.0 pipelines are Not Support for filter conditions.
Step 5: Configure stage settings
Opportunity pipeline
The Stage Type of an Opportunity is set in the Opportunity Stage Field. Types Include In Progress, Closed Won, Closed Lost, and Invalid. You can Configure the Win Rate, and use the Pipeline to adjust the Single Select value and Win Rate.
Pipeline for other objects
For Other objects, select a Single Select Field in the Object as the Stage. Stages Support standard stage, terminal stage Success, and terminal stage Failed, and also Support Sorting.
Step 6: Publish the Pipeline
- Check Basic Info, trigger, filter, and stage settings.
- Click Save.
- Enable it immediately as needed.
Expected result and validation
- Open a test Object record.
- Check whether the Pipeline appears.
- Try to move to the next Stage.
- Check whether the Stage Field is updated.
