Parts store overview
Overview
The parts store adds parts and value-added services to your service channels. End users can buy replacement parts, and service providers can order parts after diagnosing an on-site issue. This connects diagnosis, purchasing, and follow-up service.
This capability suits manufacturers that sell both finished equipment and parts. Configure the finished-goods store and parts store independently, including their home pages, navigation, products, and pricing. The parts store shows only configured parts and services.
Typical business scenarios
End users purchase repair parts
After the service engineer confirms that the equipment accessories are damaged, he can notify the end user to enter the customer service portal to purchase the required accessories. End users can view products and prices, complete purchases and payments according to their own plans, and track order status and logistics information.
Service providers purchase on demand
Service providers do not have to pre-stock parts for all device models. After engineers arrive at the scene and determine the damage, the service provider can instantly purchase the required parts through the service provider portal, concentrating inventory funds and warehousing resources on commonly used materials.
Roles, entrances and platforms
| Role | Main Entrance | Main Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| End users | Customer Service Portal > Accessories Mall | Purchase accessories or value-added services, check orders and logistics |
| Service Provider Personnel | Service Provider Portal > Inventory Management > Accessories Mall | Purchasing accessories based on on-site diagnosis results |
| Ordering staff | Switch to the Parts Store connected application on the web | Browse products and submit orders in the standalone store |
| Administrator | ShareService system settings, portal views, and Order Pass administration | Enable plugins and configure portals, store content, and permissions |
The parts store is available on Web, App, and third-party H5. Organizations can provide mobile access through H5 or the ShareCRM App. Web ordering requires an administrator to assign the Parts Store connected application to ordering staff.
Core concepts
| Capabilities | Managed Objects | Typical Results |
|---|---|---|
| Accessories Mall | Available products, prices, shopping carts, sales orders, payment and logistics | End users or service providers complete purchases |
| Spare parts management | Warehouse inventory, personal warehouse, picking, consumption, return and repair | Service team records and controls spare parts flow |
The spare parts mall solves the problems of “who to sell to, what to display, and how to place an order” and does not replace the spare parts inventory management in the service channel. Whether the mall order further enters the enterprise’s procurement, warehousing or fulfillment process depends on the ordering channel and the enterprise’s business configuration.
Configuration relationship
To use the parts store, first purchase Order Management and then enable the Parts Store business add-on in ShareService. The system creates the default Parts Store connected application. The administrator must also complete these configurations:
- Independently set the mall homepage, navigation menu, product range and role permissions.
- Add the accessories mall to the customer service portal or service provider portal according to the usage object.
- For Web ordering, assign the Parts Store connected application to ordering staff.
- To select parts from an equipment exploded view, configure CPQ, exploded-view quoting, sales BOMs, and part-number mapping.
