Mall categories

Business scenario

CRM product classification mainly serves internal product-system management. The classification logic is often not intuitive for dealers, resellers, and end customers, so product selection is inefficient.
To solve this, ShareOrder provides Mall Category. It uses mainstream ecommerce category management so companies can define easy-to-understand mall categories that match customer habits, improve selection efficiency, and increase channel ordering.

Feature configuration

Enable the mall category plugin
After the mall category rollout, the Mall Category plugin appears in Setup Guide > Business Plugins.

  1. Click Enable Now to initialize mall categories.
  2. After initialization, the system adds objects such as Mall Category and Mall Category Related Products. Click settings to open the mall category menu.

Create a mall category
Manually create a mall category. It is hidden by default. After you maintain related products, set Display to Yes.

Relate products to a mall category
SKU and SPU modes are supported.
If the company has not enabled the Merchandise object, relate the product object. If it is enabled, relate the merchandise object. After you relate merchandise, products of all specifications automatically get the mall category.

Import from product classification
Besides creating mall categories manually, you can import from CRM product classification. During import, you can select products to bring in.

Other notes

Mall category vs mall classification
NOTE: Mall categories have a similar purpose to the previous mall classification, but they are more flexible. They support multiple malls, each category can relate products, and one product can relate to multiple mall categories. Treat mall category as an upgrade of mall classification. Use mall categories directly.
For companies that already enabled mall classification, upgrade to Mall Category.

Product classification display

Admins can set different classification-tree display methods based on the company’s product or merchandise classification levels. This configuration supports web and mobile.
