Edition questions

After an account upgrades to the new ShareOrder version, is there an impact, and can it return to the old version?

The new and old ShareOrder versions differ only in the ordering client experience, similar to the new and old main site. All data stays in CRM. Existing accounts that want new features can roll out the new version. If the new version does not meet their needs, they can still use the old version. You can switch the two versions freely. They do not conflict.

Is there a difference between tenantless and tenanted ShareOrder use?

There is no difference for completing the required ordering work. Accounts that enabled a tenant can also use Enterprise IM, CRM, and other internal management tools.

The old ordering mode could switch Price Book. Why is that missing in the new version?

To support Multi-Org and multi-brand scenarios, the old version added the Saleable Scope and price control parameter. Some existing accounts could switch Price Book. The new version already supports Multi-Org mode, so that parameter is no longer provided. ShareOrder no longer supports switching Price Book. It quotes prices based on saleable scope. Existing accounts can later upgrade to Multi-Org mode to get Price Book switching.

Why can’t the new version set an advertising banner?

The old advertising object was tied to old promotions. Version 810 opened a new advertising object. An advertising banner can open a promotion, merchandise, or product object.

Multi-level ordering

Multi-level ordering business architecture

System deployment

This solution is a 1&N single-tenant deployment. Downstream dealers, resellers, and stores do not need a CRM tenant. They access the system only through the dealer portal.

Business architecture

Multi-level ordering involves the brand owner, dealers (direct channel and channel merchants), and resellers or stores (indirect channel). The product therefore provides three workspaces. The brand owner works in the 1-tenant CRM. Dealers, resellers, and stores work in Partner Portals.

Group Edition initialization

After you purchase ShareOrder Group Edition, Order Management guides you through industry initialization.
As with single-level ordering, complete the steps by industry. After initialization, single-level ordering initialization is complete.
NOTE: Prerequisites for Group Edition initialization:
  1. Price Book must be enabled.
  2. SharePartner is not purchased. Multi-level ordering and SharePartner are mutually exclusive.
NOTE: Both inventory management modes (Self-management mode and ERP integration mode) support the Channel Inventory Plugin.

Enable the multi-level ordering plugin

After initialization, open the system configuration page. Enable multi-level ordering if you need it. Click Enable. The system checks whether inventory is enabled. If it is, the system initializes multi-level ordering. Otherwise, a dialog prompts you to initialize inventory.

Initialization contents
After multi-level ordering initialization, the system adds the Channel Distribution External Apps. Related contents include:
  • A new Channel Distribution External app, with preset web and mobile page templates
  • New Order Management menu groups for channel center, channel data, and channel settings, including channel merchant and channel trading relationship objects
  • Upgraded ShareOrder logic so an account can choose a supplier and place an order in multi-level scenarios
  • A preset ShareOrder page template for indirect channels, with the applicable role Channel Order Clerk, so direct and indirect channels can work separately
  • A preset channel navigation template for Channel Distribution
NOTE: Channel Distribution is a new External app built on Partner capabilities. It is the core app for channel merchants. ShareOrder remains the channel ordering app. It supports multi-level channel ordering, and users can choose a merchant when multiple merchants exist.

Plugin-based changes to in-process trading
After you enable multi-level ordering, both direct-sales accounts and channel accounts get trading relationships. In-process trading uses the trading relationship. For example, when you select an account on an order, you can select only an Associated Account of the current organization. When a channel merchant creates an order, it can select only accounts under its trading relationship. Shipment, Payment, invoicing, contracts, quotes, and other Related Documents follow the same rule.
Object Action What changes Note
Account object Create Creating a direct-sales account prompts the system to create an organization direct supply trading relationship. Creating a channel account automatically creates a channel supply trading relationship.
List Data is filtered by data permission plus trading relationship. Channel data has a separate menu and is isolated from direct-sales data. Important change
Account, Contact List Adds the Channel Type record type. Channel data has a separate menu and is isolated from direct-sales data.
Order, shipment, Payment, invoicing, refund, return, and similar objects List Adds the Channel Type record type and detail page layout. Channel data has a separate menu and is isolated from direct-sales data.
Create The create page filters accounts by trading relationship. Salespeople or back-office users who place an order on behalf of a customer can select only accounts in organization direct supply. Channel merchants can select only accounts they supply. Important change
Inventory, inbound order, outbound order, and other inventory objects List Adds the Channel Type record type and Details Page Layout. Channel data has a separate menu and is isolated from direct-sales data. Enable the Channel Inventory Plugin

System configuration process

In the standard channel merchant process, after the brand owner enables the merchant account, the channel merchant can work independently. It can create accounts, saleable scope, Price Book, and promotions, then place orders and manage inventory.
For a brand owner with strong control, the brand owner configures channel saleable scope, channel pricing, and channel promotions in a unified way. The channel can then create accounts and place orders directly.

Key scenario capability: ShareOrder International Edition

ShareOrder already serves some international accounts, and product internationalization is still being completed. Overseas channel partners order online from ShareCRM web or App. This improves upstream and downstream order collaboration and digitizes overseas channel ordering.
NOTE: Multiple-language switching is currently supported only on the web. Mobile support is planned for later versions.
