Enable Manufacturing DMS
Overview
Initialize DMS apps, objects, fields, and page layouts.
Before you begin

Permissions: Use an account that can configure the Setup.

License: You purchased the Manufacturing DMS license.

Prerequisites: Enable Price Book and Saleable Scope before initialization.

Impact: Initialization creates preset apps and related configuration.
Steps
- In the Setup, go to CRM Platform Administration > Business Rule Settings > Distributor Management.
- On the Manufacturing DMS introduction page, click Enable now.
- On the initialization page, confirm the capabilities to enable.
- If you purchased the medical device plugin, select it too.
- Submit initialization.
- After initialization, open the Distributor Management app.
- In the first-time prompt, open the setup guide.
Initialization entry and result
These pages show the enablement entry, initialization options, and preset apps.
Price Book and saleable scope check
Before initialization, confirm that Price Book and saleable scope are in the enable status.
How to verify
- The Distributor Management app is visible.
- The Dealer Portal app is visible.
- Related objects, fields, and layouts are initialized.
- The first-time prompt shows the setup guide.
Notes
Enablement initializes product-managed configuration, including preset apps, objects, fields, and layouts.
