Knowledge Base Publishing

Publish to external organizations (e.g. service providers) and to the WeCom sidebar. Recipients access under their own permissions.

Overview

Knowledge base publishing exposes the knowledge base to audiences outside the default internal scope, for example partner organizations or WeCom users. Publishing is controlled by administrators and each channel has its own configuration.

Publish to a service provider or external organization

  1. Open the knowledge base publishing settings in the backend.
  2. Choose the external organization channel.
  3. Select the spaces or folders to publish.
  4. Configure the external visibility scope and the channel entry.
  5. Publish and verify from an external account that the content is visible as configured.
  • External users only see the published spaces and folders; internal-only content remains hidden.
  • External visibility follows the external permission scope configured for the space or folder.

Publish to the WeCom side panel

  1. Open the knowledge base publishing settings and choose the WeCom channel.
  2. Configure the WeCom application and entry.
  3. Select the knowledge scope to publish.
  4. Publish, then verify from WeCom that the side panel shows the knowledge base and answers questions correctly.

Publishing notes

  • Publishing does not change the internal permission model; it only opens specific channels.
  • Updates to published knowledge take effect on the published channels after the item is published.
  • Withdraw publishing when the audience is no longer authorized; withdrawn channels stop showing the content.
