Set up the Twilio SendGrid email service
Overview
Bind Twilio SendGrid to ShareMarketing to send marketing email and review delivery and engagement data.
Before you begin
- Make sure you can access the email integration settings in ShareMarketing.
- Prepare a SendGrid account.
- Confirm a sending subdomain with your marketing and IT operations teams.
- Ask IT operations to help manage DNS records.
Register and confirm domains
-
Register an account at SendGrid. For registration from mainland China, the documented procedure recommends a US VPN node and a Gmail address. SendGrid’s risk controls may prevent a new account from signing in. Contact your account manager if that happens. The documented offer is a 60-day trial with a limit of 100 emails per day. Confirm current trial terms with SendGrid. Upgrade the plan when you need more capacity.

-
Ask your marketing team to choose a sending subdomain, such as
mkt.example.com. Recipients see this domain in the sender address, so it is required. You can also choose a tracking domain, such asetrack.example.com. When recipients hover over links in the email, they see that domain. Confirm both domains with IT operations. Confirm the domain’s ICP filing with IT operations before binding.
Authenticate the sending domain
-
In SendGrid, select Domain sender authentication for bulk marketing email.

-
Ask IT operations which DNS provider manages your domain. In the second setup step, select Yes if you want links to show your company’s tracking domain. Otherwise, SendGrid’s domain appears by default.

-
Enter the root domain under From Domain. Enter the sending and tracking subdomain prefixes in the two fields below it. Use the prefixes confirmed with IT in the previous section. For example, the setup can produce
mkt.example.comfor sending andetrack.example.comfor tracking.
-
Email the DNS configuration supplied by SendGrid to IT operations so they can add the records.

-
Return to the pending domain entry. After IT completes the DNS records, open the entry and click Verify. Continue after the sending domain and any optional branded tracking domain pass verification.

Configure events and API access
-
In SendGrid, configure webhook notifications for delivery, opens, clicks, unsubscribes, and complaints. Set Post URL to
https://www.fxiaoke.com/marketing/sendGrid/webhook. If your tenant uses another domain, replace onlywww.fxiaoke.comwith your tenant domain. Keep the request path unchanged. Select every Actions to posted option. Enable Signature Verification, then create a Verification Key for the later binding step.
-
Create an API key in SendGrid with Full Access. Keep the generated key information for binding in ShareMarketing.
