Adjust a budget

During budget execution, increase, decrease, or transfer expense budget sheet amounts, and keep an adjustment record.

Overview

The Budget Adjustment Form is a Standard Object used to record Budget Sheet adjustments. Record Type values are:
  • Budget Supplement: Increase the expense budget sheet amount.
  • Budget Deduction: Decrease the expense budget sheet amount. Deduction includes budget roll-up. By default, after the Adjustment Amount is deducted, the system rolls it up to the parent Budget Sheet.
  • Budget Allocation: Transfer amounts only between expense budget sheets that share the same parent (the same parent Budget Sheet).

Before you start

❗
  • Object permission: You need the Budget Adjustment Form object permission.
  • Completion Conditions: The related expense budget sheets already exist. For Budget Allocation, the source sheet and target sheet must belong to the same parent Budget Sheet.
  • Entry 1: Budget Management app → Budget Management > Budget Adjustment Form.
  • Entry 2: The adjustment action in the expense budget sheet list.

💡
After a budget adjustment occurs, the system generates budget income and expense entries. You cannot edit the adjustment document, so run this action carefully. We recommend configuring an Approval Process.

  • Expense budget sheet amounts are updated by Budget Supplement, Budget Deduction, or Budget Allocation.
  • When you deduct and roll up, the parent Budget Sheet also receives the rolled-up amount.
  • Budget Allocation does not complete between budget sheets that have different parents.
