Create a dashboard

Follow this guide to create a dashboard and select the Personal or Enterprise type according to how it will be used.

Before You Begin

  • Before creating an Enterprise dashboard, make sure you are a CRM administrator or a reports administrator.
  • Prepare the dashboard name, the save path, and the viewers and operators you want to set.

Enter the Create Entry

You can create a dashboard through either of the following entries:
  • New in Dashboards.
  • New in Reports, then New Dashboard.

Select the Dashboard Type

Select the dashboard type you need when creating a new dashboard.

Create a Personal Dashboard

Regular employees, CRM administrators, and reports administrators can all create Personal dashboards. Select Personal when creating one.
The data that a Personal dashboard shows depends on the viewer. For example, when A shares a dashboard with B, B sees data according to B’s own data permission. This type supports drill-down, viewing details, global filtering, and chart-specific condition filters.

Create an Enterprise Dashboard

Only CRM administrators and reports administrators can create Enterprise dashboards; select Enterprise when creating one.
The Enterprise type suits scenarios where employees have no data permission of their own but need to gain insight into data through a large screen. Administrators can create, edit, and authorize dashboards; other roles can view them after an administrator authorizes them, but cannot edit them. Viewers see data according to the authorizer’s data permission.
The view permission of an Enterprise dashboard can only be set to Private, and operation permissions are not supported. Enterprise dashboards do not support drill-down, viewing details, or chart-specific condition filters. Global filtering is available only for conditions that administrators have not locked, and the personnel filter cannot be unlocked.

Design and Add Charts

In the designer, select the chart component from the component area on the left and add it to the canvas. Chart components support preset charts and custom charts; a dashboard supports up to 20 charts.

Save the Dashboard

After clicking Save:
  1. Modify the dashboard name.
  2. Select the dashboard save path.
  3. Complete the permission settings according to the dashboard type.
  4. Click Confirm to finish creating the dashboard.

Set Permissions for a Personal Dashboard

You can set view permissions and operation permissions for a Personal dashboard.

View Permission

  • Public: Visible to all personnel who have the “Custom Personal Dashboard” view permission.
  • Private: Visible to the designated personnel who have the “Custom Personal Dashboard” view permission.
For a private dashboard, you can also let viewers view all charts in the dashboard at the same time. Added personnel must still have the view permission on the corresponding chart’s subject object; otherwise, they cannot view the chart.

Operation Permission

You can set edit, delete, export, subscribe, forward, and share permissions separately. Personnel must be able to view the dashboard and have the corresponding “Custom Personal Dashboard” operation permission in the backend business feature permissions before they can perform the operation.

View as a Designated Identity

This configuration is visible only to CRM administrators and reports administrators. You can choose:
  • Viewer: The viewer views the dashboard with their own permissions.
  • Administrator (reports administrator or CRM administrator): The viewer views the dashboard with administrator permissions and can use linkage, drill-down, and view details.
  • Designated personnel: The viewer views the dashboard with the designated person’s permissions and can use linkage, drill-down, and view details.

Expected Results

You have created and saved a dashboard. A Personal dashboard can be viewed and operated by personnel according to their permissions; an Enterprise dashboard is created by administrators and authorized for viewing.

Next Steps

After saving, you can search for a dashboard or filter dashboards by type on the reports list page, or switch views on the Dashboards page. Only Personal dashboards created by the current user can be shared with other personnel; Enterprise dashboards are authorized to other personnel by CRM administrators or reports administrators.
