Configure multi-time-zone analysis
This article describes the features, operations, and rules of multi-time-zone analysis.
The product aggregates and displays data in China Standard Time (UTC+8) by default, which suits domestic business scenarios.
Overseas business analysis requires multi-time-zone capabilities.
For example, a US order is placed at
2022-10-31 15:30.Aggregated in UTC+8, the time is converted to
2022-11-01 04:30.An order originally placed in October would be counted in November.
The United States is in UTC-5, so data should be aggregated and displayed in UTC-5.

Configure multi-time-zone report analysis
- For enterprises where multi-time-zone is enabled and the multi-time-zone analysis capability has been rolled out in BI, newly created reports display data in the creator’s personal time zone by default.
- Users can switch the report time zone. After switching, the report displays data according to the user’s specified time zone.

Classic case 1
ShareCRM has three branches around the world: the Beijing office, the New York office, and the London office. The manager of each branch needs to view and count the number of orders and the order amount placed in November 2022.
Step 1: Create a new report, select the International Sales Order object, set the order submission time to this month, and set the Assigned Department to ShareCRM Beijing office. Drag in the corresponding fields “Assigned Department”, “Order ID”, and “Order Amount”. Select UTC+8 for the time zone.

Step 2: First, group by Assigned Department. Then configure the aggregation method for the fields: count Order ID and sum Order Amount. You can now see this month’s order count and order amount for the Beijing office.

If the manager of the New York office wants to view this month’s order count and order amount for the New York office, simply change the Assigned Department in the data range to ShareCRM New York office, and select UTC-5, the time zone corresponding to New York. The London office works the same way.

Configure multi-time-zone chart analysis
- When creating a metric, if you select a date or Date Time field that uses multi-time-zone as the aggregation date, you can customize the metric’s aggregation time zone. The metric will aggregate and display data according to the custom time zone.
- When creating a chart, the chart’s default time zone is the logged-in user’s personal time zone. You can select metrics whose aggregation time zone matches the chart time zone. ## Classic case 3 ShareCRM has three branches around the world: the Beijing office, the New York office, and the London office. The manager of each branch needs to view and count the number of orders and the order amount placed in November 2022. Step 1: First, create the metric Beijing Office Order Count.
Aggregate the Order ID of International Sales Order by Order Submission Time in UTC+8 using a unique count. Create the other metrics the same way. To count metrics for different branches, select the corresponding time zone.

Step 2: Create a chart with dimensions: Assigned Department and Owner.
Select the metrics Beijing Office Order Amount and Beijing Office Order Count, with the data range set to order submission time this month.
Set the Assigned Department to ShareCRM Beijing office. Select UTC+8 for the time zone. Note: only metrics whose aggregation time zone matches, whose aggregation date is empty, or that do not use multi-time-zone are visible.
If the manager of the New York office needs to view metrics such as the company’s order count, switch the chart’s time zone to UTC-5.
At this point the chart clears all metrics.
The metric list shows only metrics with UTC-5 as the aggregation time zone, metrics with an empty aggregation date, and metrics that do not use multi-time-zone. Add the specific metrics to the chart.
Configure the data range. The London office works the same way.

Expected results and verification
After completing the operations on this page, check whether the displayed results in the corresponding report, chart, or dashboard meet expectations. If fields, metrics, or operation entries are unavailable, first confirm that the selected subject, data range, and permissions match.
