Learn what Coupons are, how they work, and how they move through the system.
Overview
Coupons apply marketing benefits to sales orders.
Sales users need to understand coupon creation, distribution, claim, and usage.
An Account can use a Coupon only after a Coupon Instance exists under that Account.
Core concepts
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Coupon Program | A rule template that defines Face Value, Threshold Amount, validity dates, and usage conditions. |
| Coupon Instance | The actual Coupon that belongs to an Account and can be used in an order. |
| Distribute | The enterprise distributes a Coupon Program to target Accounts. |
| Claim | An Account in the distribution scope claims a Coupon and receives a Coupon Instance. |
| Use | An order consumes a Coupon Instance and generates a deduction result. |
What is a Coupon
A Coupon is a marketing tool.
An enterprise uses it to provide discounts, reductions, or other benefits to Accounts.
The goal is to encourage purchase behavior or improve brand loyalty.
Coupons can be paper vouchers or E-Coupons.
In ShareCRM, the Coupon system supports an E-Coupon lifecycle.
The lifecycle includes coupon creation, distribution, claim, and usage.
The Account is usually a C-end Account or a small-b store.
An enterprise can distribute Coupons when conditions are met.
It can also launch Coupon campaigns and distribute Coupons to Accounts.
Coupons are redeemed after they are issued or claimed.
Coupon benefits
For merchants:
- Increase sales: Coupons attract New Accounts and encourage existing Accounts to buy more. This can increase sales amount or average order value.
- Increase brand exposure: Coupon distribution improves brand awareness. Continuous distribution can also help build long-term Account relationships and loyalty.
- Collect and analyze Account data: Claim and usage data helps the enterprise understand Account needs and behavior. It also supports more precise marketing.
- Adjust strategies flexibly: The enterprise can adjust Coupon campaigns based on market feedback.
For Accounts:
- Save costs: Coupons let Accounts buy products or services at a lower price.
- Discover new products: Coupons encourage Accounts to try new brands or New Product offerings.
- Improve convenience: E-Coupons simplify the process used by Paper Voucher scenarios.
Coupon product structure
The ShareCRM Coupon system includes four stages.
The stages are coupon creation, distribution, claim, and usage.
The system currently supports Threshold Reduction Coupon.

- Create Coupons: Configure a Coupon Program based on the target benefit, including the discount amount and usage conditions. For example, reduce CNY 10 when the order reaches CNY 100. You can also require the Account to buy beverage products before the Coupon can be used. The Coupon Program is a template and is not tied to a specific Account.
- Distribute Coupons: Distribute the Coupon Program to target Accounts in a single Batch or multiple batches. The enterprise can control the distribution time and Account scope. This stage is performed in ShareMarketing.
- Claim Coupons: Accounts in the distribution scope can claim Coupons. The claim creates a usable Coupon Instance. This stage is performed in ShareOrder.
- Use Coupons: After a Coupon Instance exists under an Account, orders for that Account can use the Coupon to offset the corresponding amount.
Order usage results
After a Coupon is used in an order, the system writes back the result based on the usage Type:
- Offset Payment Received: The order amount and line Unit Price remain unchanged. The result affects Subtotal After Expense Allocation, paid amount, and Amount Pending Collection.
- Allocated Discount: The order amount and line Unit Price decrease. The Coupon Discount records the benefit and also affects Subtotal After Expense Allocation.
Related boundaries
- One order can use only one Coupon.
- A Coupon usually has an Effective Date, Expiration Date, and usage conditions.
- If the Coupon restricts payment to WeChat Pay, other payment methods cannot use the Coupon.
- If the Coupon requires purchase of 500 ml beverage products, an order without that product cannot use the Coupon.
