Use pricing policies
Use a pricing policy when an order meets the policy conditions.
Overview
Pricing policies run promotions during order entry. The system matches pricing policies by order, account, product, and other conditions.
After a policy matches, the system processes prices, amounts, or gifts.
When the same order meets multiple pricing policies, users can switch to another available policy. Product promotions can be switched on the product line.
Before you begin
[!IMPORTANT] - Role permissions: You need permission to create or edit orders. - Prerequisite configuration: An administrator has enabled pricing policies and configured available policies and rules. - Applicable scope: The order account and products must meet pricing policy rule conditions.
Steps
- On the order create or edit page, enter the account, products, quantities, amounts, and other order information.
- In the order product line, check whether the product name shows a Promo tag.
- If the product line shows a Promo tag, confirm that the product is in the promotion product display scope.
- On the product line, click Policy.
- In the available policy list, review the pricing policies that the current product promotion can use.
- If multiple policies are available, select the policy that you want to use.
- Save or submit the order.
[!NOTE] The Promo tag only indicates that the product is in the promotion product display scope. Whether the product actually participates in the promotion still depends on the product scope and rule conditions in the pricing rule.
Expected result and verification
- The order or product line applies a pricing policy that meets the conditions.
- Product promotions run by the selected policy.
- The system adjusts prices, amounts, or gifts by pricing rule.
Troubleshooting
