Find and select products by product category

Before you start

[!IMPORTANT] - Role permissions: You need view and edit permissions for the business document, and view permission for Products. - Prerequisite configuration: A Product catalog administrator has maintained Product Categories and associated Products with categories. - Dependencies: The current document must allow you to add or edit Product details.

Procedure

1. Open the target document or create a new one from the Opportunity, Quote, Sales Contract, or Sales Order list.
2. In the document’s Product Details section, click Add Product.
3. In the Product selection window, select the target Product Category.
4. Expand the category hierarchy or browse the flat category list according to the current display style.
5. Select the target Product from the Product list.
6. Confirm the selection and return to the document editing page.
7. Save the business document.

Expected results

• The selected Product loads into the Product Details of the current document.
• The Product selection window displays Products according to the category structure configured by the administrator.
• Category changes affect later Product selection but do not change Product Details in saved documents.
• After selection, the business document can display the configured Product Price.
