Configure price lookup tool permissions
Give sales and customer service users permission to use the price lookup tool.
Overview
The price lookup tool retrieves execution prices for accounts, products, and available sales scopes. Administrators use role permissions to control which roles can use the tool.
Before you start
[!IMPORTANT] - Permissions: You need role permission configuration permissions in CRM Setup. - Prerequisite: Price Books and available sales scope capabilities are enabled. - Configuration object: Identify the sales or customer service roles that need price lookup access.
Steps
- In Setup, go to Business Feature Permissions > Role Permission Settings.
- In role permissions, go to Price Books > Price Inquiry Tool.
- Select the roles that need to use the price lookup tool.
- Save the permission configuration.

Validate the result
- Sign in with an authorized role.
- In the Tools area on the home page, confirm that Price Inquiry Tool appears.
- Open Price Inquiry Tool. Confirm that you can query by account, product, or an account-and-product combination.

Notes
Lookup results depend on enabled price books and available sales scope rules. Changing role permissions controls only the tool entry point. It does not change price book or available sales scope matching rules.
[!NOTE] The source price book and available sales scope documents do not fully describe the price lookup tool’s management interface or permission fields. This article uses the confirmed permission entry. Product owners should verify the permission name and save action before formal publication.
Configuration terminology
The Product Bundle and Personnel Role permissions determine which users can use the tool.
