Maintain non-standard product records
Maintain basic non-standard product records.
Overview
Non-standard product records are the basis of non-standard transactions.
After you mark a product as a non-standard product, sales users can select it in a transaction document and add a detailed requirement description.
Before you begin
[!IMPORTANT] - Role permissions: You have permission to maintain products. - Prerequisite configuration: Non-standard product transactions are enabled. - Business preparation: The placeholder product name is clear.
Configuration steps
- In the Product object, click New.
- On the product creation page, enter Basic Info such as Product Name, Product Category, and Unit.
- In the Product Type field, select Non-standard Product.

- Maintain the default price, confirmed attributes, and other information as needed.
- Click Save.
Expected result and validation
- On the product details page, confirm that Product Type is Non-standard Product.
- In a transaction document, click Add Non-standard Product.
- If the tenant has only one non-standard product, the system directly adds it.
- If the tenant has multiple non-standard products, the system opens the product selection page and shows only products whose Product Type is Non-standard Product.
Follow-up configuration
After you maintain non-standard product records, continue with these configurations as needed:
- To control which accounts or business scopes can buy the product, maintain the sellable range.
- To retrieve prices automatically, maintain Price Book Details for the non-standard product.
FAQ and troubleshooting
[!WARNING] After the product is saved, you cannot change Product Type.
[!NOTE] - A tenant can have multiple non-standard products. - Non-standard products do not support BOM parent items. - Non-standard products do not support periodic pricing. - Non-standard products follow the same sellable range control as standard products. - Non-standard products can use Price Book pricing.
