Configure multi-unit pricing

Maintain separate prices for different units of the same product to support sales by package.

Overview

Multi-unit pricing supports products sold by both a base unit and a package unit, such as bottles and cases. Maintain a price for each unit, and let the system match the price to the unit selected on the order.

Core rules

  • Set a price and discount independently for each unit.
  • The order uses the price that matches its selected unit.
  • If a unit has no independent price, the system may calculate it from the conversion ratio.
  • The standard price book does not support multi-unit pricing.

Example

Product Unit Conversion relationship Price Books price
Product A Bottle Base unit CNY 2.00
Product A Case 1 case = 24 bottles CNY 45.60 (independent price)

Price retrieval examples

  • Customer buys one case: retrieves the case price of CNY 45.60.
  • Customer buys individual bottles: retrieves the bottle price of CNY 2.00.

Configuration guidance

  • Maintain independent prices when unit prices do not scale with the conversion ratio.
  • Use independent unit prices for case discounts or bulk-package promotions.

Configuration terminology

The price book can combine Tiered Pricing with a unit-specific Price Book Selling Price when the business rules allow it. Confirm the Completion Conditions before saving.
