Configure credit repayment rules
This Business Process lets a payment posted to the credit account clear credit expense and restore the credit limit. The standard product path is to post a payment to the credit account. Outstanding repayment statistics need implementation configuration.
Overview
The standard repayment path is to create a payment and post it to the credit account. The implementation guide also describes outstanding repayment fields so customer fund account balance can show how much is still due.
The second half of this page comes from the implementation guide. It is project configuration, not an out-of-the-box capability for every tenant.
❗
-
Customer Fund Account and Credit Management are enabled.
-
The payment object has posting authorization, and the credit account is in the posting range.
-
Outstanding repayment statistics require permission to customize objects and fields.
Steps
Standard repayment
- Edit payment posting authorization so the credit account can be selected.
- Set a default account if needed. Repayment must be able to select the credit account.
- Test a payment posted to the credit account and confirm occupancy is released.
Outstanding repayment implementation
- If you need a Custom Object for credit, add it to account authorization and initialize it before you can post credit.
- Create a credit repayment payment, select repayment details, and post to the credit account. You can complete repayment details and posting later.
📝
When an order validates a credit account, create Account Validation Rules as you do for other accounts. Complete freeze and deduction on the order.
Verification
- After a payment is posted to the credit account, credit occupancy decreases and the credit balance is restored.
- If you completed the implementation configuration, customer fund account balance shows outstanding repayment, and transaction logs show repayment details.
