Configure customer fund accounts
Enable Customer Fund Account and create account types by fund purpose.
Overview
After you enable the suite, the system provides account types, account transaction logs, and customer fund account balances. It presets one cash account that supports payment posting and cannot be disabled or deleted. You can add rebate, expense, deposit, and points accounts as needed.
Before you begin
❗
-
Customer Fund Account is purchased or enabled in grayscale.
-
A CRM administrator completes enablement in business management.
Steps
- After purchase or grayscale enablement, confirm that Customer Fund Account Management appears in Business Management.
- For an opening balance, do not edit the balance directly. Create an income account transaction log and set the income type to Beginning Balance.
- If you need balance validation and freeze, enable advanced capabilities. The system then adds customer fund account validation rules, account freeze records, and unfreeze details, and it adds freeze fields on the balance. The CRM Management and Payment Finance roles get full access.
- For overseas multi-currency, enable multi-currency first, then apply for the grayscale capability Customer Fund Account supports multi-currency.
-
The preset cash account supports payment object posting.
-
Custom accounts have no built-in link to other objects. Use account authorization to post from custom objects.
-
Validation rules do not support negative deduction. If negative balances are allowed and a balance becomes negative, validation rules stop applying.
-
Rebate forms do not support fund account multi-currency yet. Support is planned for version 2630.
-
Account transfer supports only the same currency.
-
The shipment must have a currency field so freeze and unfreeze can run by currency.
Verification
- Business Management shows Customer Fund Account Management.
- The account list includes the undeletable preset cash account and your custom accounts.
- After you create a CRM account, matching fund account rows appear in customer fund account balance.
