Configure Customer Fund Accounts


Rebate form posting and order deduction both depend on Customer Fund Account configuration.

Overview

Rebates depend on Customer Account 2.0. Before you use rebates, you must configure rebate-related accounts, authorizations, and validation relationships. Rebate Type determines how the rebate form is handled in the account workflow.

Before you start

[!IMPORTANT] - The rebate system is enabled. - The Customer Fund Account system is enabled.

Rebate-related accounts

The rebate system depends on Customer Account 2.0. To use rebates, you must enable Customer Fund Accounts and use the Customer Fund Account Component on documents. You must also configure the Customer Fund Account settings first.
After you enable rebates, the Customer Fund Account system automatically adds three preset rebate-related accounts. You can also maintain custom rebate-related accounts.

Configure account authorization

  1. Go to Customer Fund Account Management > Account Authorization.
  2. Enable account authorization.
  3. Review the system-generated rebate form income authorization and sales order expense authorization.

The rebate form income authorization lists the three Customer Fund Accounts that a rebate form can be posted to.
If you also maintain custom rebate-related accounts, you can configure the posting relationship here as well.
Order expense authorization details
The sales order expense authorization lists the three Customer Fund Accounts that can appear on orders for later deduction through the Customer Fund Account Component.
If you need other accounts to be deducted directly on orders, you can also configure the expense relationship here.

Configure account validation rules

  1. Go to Customer Fund Account Management > Validation Rules.
  2. Enable the account validation rules.
  3. Review the automatically added Component Deduction rule. The default related object is Sales Order.
  4. For accounts that use Direct Deduction from an order amount field, configure the account and the corresponding deduction field.

Validation notes

  • The three preset rebate accounts already have preset deduction fields.
  • For other accounts, create the field first, then configure the deduction relationship here.

Expected results and verification

  • Three preset rebate-related accounts appear in the account list.
  • Rebate form income authorization and sales order expense authorization appear in account authorization.
  • The Component Deduction rule and account deduction field relationships appear in validation rules.

FAQ

  • If rebate-related accounts do not appear, confirm that the rebate system and the Customer Fund Account system are both enabled.
  • If an order cannot deduct account balance, check the authorization and deduction field relationship.
