Configure the account org structure component


Overview

Use Account Department data to display an Account’s internal Org Structure.

Before you begin

Before you begin - You need permission to configure the Account object layout. - Your organization has a license for the Account Org Structure tree component. - Plan the Account Departments and Parent Department relationships.

Configure the component

  1. Find Tree Component on the Account object layout configuration page.
  2. Drag the component to the required position.
  3. Enter the component name in the properties panel.
  4. Select a card display mode.
  5. Select the tree relationship data source.
  6. Select and order the displayed fields.
  7. Choose whether field names are Visible.
  8. Save the layout.

Prepare Account Department data

The Account Org Structure uses the predefined Account Department object. Its API Name is AccountDepartmentObj.
  1. Create an Account Department for the target Account.
  2. Enter the Account Department Name and Department Manager.
  3. In the Account Field, select the Account that owns the department.
  4. In Parent Department, select a department under the current Account.

Note: The Account Field is required. A Parent Department must belong to the same Account. Cross-Account relationships are not supported.

Mode Description
Select from data source object Select card fields from the tree relationship data source object
Display relationship object fields Use fields from the tree relationship object as card content
Configure the tree component

Verify the configuration

  1. Create Account Departments for one Account.
  2. Use the Parent Department field to create the Hierarchy.
  3. Confirm that the Org Structure appears correctly on the Account details page.

Note: Several layouts can reference the same tree relationship data source. Evaluate the affected layouts before changing a relationship.
