Employee quick start
Follow one workflow to find the main entry points for communication, Feeds, Reports, Tasks, and Calendar. You also verify that your account can use each feature.
What you learn
After this tutorial, you can:
- Start a conversation in Chats.
- View work information related to you in Feeds.
- Submit a Report.
- Create a Task.
- Create and view a Calendar event.
Before you begin
- Your organization has enabled the required collaboration apps.
- Your role has permission to create and view the relevant objects.
- An administrator has assigned the required record types and layouts for Reports and Tasks.
If an entry point is missing, stop and see Troubleshooting. Do not skip the availability and permission checks.
Start a conversation
- In the upper-right corner of the Chats conversation list, select the new-conversation control.
- Enter a colleague’s name in the search box.
- Select the colleague to open a direct or group conversation.
- Send your message.
View Feeds
- Go to Work > Feeds.
- In the left navigation, select the category you want to view.
- Filter the content by type, time, or creator.
- Reply, like, save, or follow the relevant item.
Submit a Report
- At the top of Feeds, select Report.
- Select a record type assigned by your administrator.
- Enter the work details, Reviewer, and Cc Scope.
- Check the reporting period and submission time.
- Select Submit.
Create a Task
- At the top of Feeds, select the control for creating a Task.
- Enter the title, details, assignee, and due date.
- Add a reminder and related CRM data as needed.
- Select Submit.
Create a Calendar event
- Open Calendar.
- Select New Event.
- Enter the event details, time, participants, and reminder.
- Add related CRM data and a Cc Scope as needed.
- Select Submit and verify the event in Calendar.
Verify the result
- The conversation appears in the Chats list.
- The Report and Task appear in Feeds.
- The event appears in Calendar.
