Configure report objects and templates

Configure report fields, layout, record type and submission rules.

Before you begin

  • You need to be a System Administrator, CRM Administrator, or Report Admin.
  • This article only maintains the current object-based Report.

Configure Report Admins

  1. Go to Setup > Work Circle > Management Role.
  2. Select Report Admin.
  3. Click Add Employee and select the employee who needs to be responsible for report management.
  4. Set the administrator’s scope of responsibility as needed.

Configure the report object

  1. Enter Setup > CRM Platform Management > Object Management > Default Object Management > Report.
  2. In Basic Information, check the report name and description.
  3. In the field list, add or edit the report field.
  4. Configure field dependencies as needed. Currently, it is only supported to establish dependencies with record type as the parent field and review status as the child field.
  5. In the role permissions, configure the function permissions such as view, create, edit, import and export.
  6. In the layout, configure the details page, create/edit page, list page and mobile summary layout.
  7. Configure layout rules as needed to make fields dynamically display, hide, or become required when conditions are met.
  8. Assign layouts to roles and record types.

Create record type

  1. In the report object, enter Record Type.
  2. Create a new daily plan, weekly plan, monthly plan or custom record type.
  3. Assign the record type to the applicable role.
  4. Assign layouts to record types.
  5. Save the configuration.
All Employees is a special role that covers the entire organization and should be assigned at least one available record type; if you only want some employees to use a certain type, you should check whether the type has been assigned to All Employees by mistake.

Configure a report template

  1. Go to Setup > Work Circle > Report Management > Report Template.
  2. Find the report type to configure.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Configure the applicable scope and reporting period.
  5. Configure Include in Statistics and Multiple comments.
  6. Configure the submission scope, fixed Reviewer, minimum Cc Scope, submission time, resubmission and reminder rules as needed.
  7. Click Save.
Edit Report template and submission rules
Report templates do not support replication. Time points can only be configured on the hour.
The record type of object-based reports needs to be disabled in the report object and cannot be disabled only in report template management. When using the detail object component in the layout, you must also confirm that employees have the permission to create and edit the detail object, and that the detail object record type has matched the current report record type.
The record type of the report object and the template configuration in report management are inseparable: the former determines the forms and layouts that can be used by the role, and the latter determines the scope of application, reporting cycle, Reviewer, Cc Scope and submission time. If only one of the configurations is completed, the frontend may still not be able to publish normally.
To analyze due, on-time, late, and missing reports, continue with Configure report analytics and statistics.

Verify configuration

  1. Log in to the user-facing interface using the applicable role.
  2. Open the report publishing entry point in Feeds.
  3. Check the record type, layout, and default scope.
  4. Submit a test report and verify its timing and review rules.
