create-a-sandbox-environment
After creating a sandbox, you can develop and test configuration in an isolated environment.
[!WARNING] Specific page paths, field names, and creation limits require manual review. The original manual provides only basic instructions for creating, copying, logging in to, and deleting sandboxes.
Before you begin
- You have sandbox management permission.
- Confirm the source environment to copy.
- Confirm the sandbox type.
- Confirm whether you need to copy business data.
- Notify related testers in advance.
Step 1: Open the Sandbox Management page
- In the admin backend, go to Environment Management > Sandbox Management.
- On the Sandbox Management page, click New Sandbox.
Step 2: Select the source environment
- In Source Environment, select the production environment or another related sandbox.
- Confirm the configuration status of the source environment.
[!NOTE] The source environment can be the production environment or another sandbox. The actual selectable scope follows what the page displays.
The source enterprise must be related to the current production environment. When creating a sandbox, the system copies a new sandbox environment from the source enterprise.
Step 3: Select the sandbox type
- In Sandbox Type, select the target type.
- If you only need configuration testing, select Development Sandbox.
- If you need sample data, select Partial Copy Sandbox.
- If you need complete business data, select Full Sandbox.
Step 4: Enter sandbox information
- In Sandbox Name, enter a short name.
- In Description, state the purpose and owner.
- Review the copy scope.
Step 5: Submit the creation
- At the bottom of the page, click Save.
- In the confirmation dialog, click OK.
- In the sandbox list, view the creation status.
Expected results and validation
After the sandbox is created successfully, the system displays the new sandbox in the list. You can get the login URL and enter the sandbox environment.
Deletion protection period
To avoid creating and deleting sandboxes too frequently, the original manual defines the following limits:
| Sandbox type | Deletion limit |
|---|---|
| Development Sandbox | Cannot be deleted within 24 hours of creation |
| Full Sandbox | Cannot be deleted within 30 days of creation |
[!WARNING] The deletion protection period comes from the original manual. If the current version rules have changed, follow the actual product limits.
