copy-a-sandbox-environment

Copying a sandbox generates a new test environment based on an existing environment.
[!WARNING] The original manual states that “Copy Sandbox” and “New Sandbox” are identical in the current version. This conclusion requires manual review.

Before you begin

  • You have sandbox management permission.
  • Confirm that the source environment is available.
  • Confirm the purpose of the copied sandbox.
  • Confirm whether any unpublished configuration exists.

Step 1: Open the Sandbox Management page

  1. In the admin backend, go to Environment Management > Sandbox Management.
  2. On the Sandbox Management page, click Copy Sandbox.

Step 2: Select the source environment

  1. In Source Environment, select the production environment or a sandbox environment.
  2. Check the status of the source environment.
The source enterprise can be the production environment or another sandbox environment. Copying a sandbox creates a new sandbox environment based on the source enterprise’s configuration.

Step 3: Enter the new sandbox information

  1. In Sandbox Name, enter a name for the new environment.
  2. In Description, state the purpose of the copy.
  3. Review the sandbox type and copy scope.

Step 4: Submit the copy

  1. Click Save.
  2. In the confirmation dialog, click OK.
  3. In the sandbox list, view the copy progress.

Expected results and validation

After the copy completes, the system generates a new sandbox environment. You can log in to the sandbox and check the configuration and test data.

Current version notes

The original manual states that Copy Sandbox and New Sandbox have no functional difference in the current version. When using the feature, confirm on the page whether copy scope, data policy, or source limit differences exist.
