Scenario compatibility and language scope
This page explains the current behavior of CRM Notifications, BI dashboards, calculated fields, and the languages available to an enterprise.
What should I do when CRM Notifications does not display the target language?
First check whether target-language values exist for the object name, employee name, notification template, and primary attribute of the business record.
Automatic Translation on the CRM Notifications page is currently a rollout capability and is not enabled by default for every tenant. Request the Automatic Translation (Web) rollout. After it is enabled:
- Go to Personal Settings > Language and Time Zone Settings, then select the translation language and automatic-translation module. CRM Notifications is currently the only supported automatic-translation module.
- Open CRM Notifications and enable Translation in the lower-left corner. You can also use Language Settings to return to Personal Settings and change the target language.
- Notification text in the CRM Notifications list is automatically translated into the target language.
Tenants outside this rollout do not see these entry points. Continue to maintain content through the standard translation entry points for notification templates, object names, employee names, and primary attributes of business records.
What should I do when a BI dashboard still displays the previous language after translation?
After translating the relevant names, republish the affected BI dashboard so the latest language content takes effect. Republish the dashboard itself. Do not delete or republish the underlying reports, and do not remove dashboard components first.
How is a calculated field displayed when it references a multilingual text field?
A calculated field that returns text follows the language of the current viewer. Before checking the result, confirm that the referenced multilingual text field has a value for that language.
How do I control which languages employees can select?
An administrator enables the languages needed by the enterprise under Language Settings in Setup. Employees can select only languages that are both enabled for the enterprise and available under the tenant’s purchased products.
